It's hard to coordinate this sort of thing. We'll just have to do it again so those folks with conflicts can make it :)

Thanks, Jim! I am planning on it.

My Londinium should be shipping early next week

Hi All, Couple of things:

First; I'd like a rough head count -- if you can, please PM or email me if you are coming, even if you've already said you are -- this thread has been long and winding.

Second; here's my address:

If you are coming by car, the guest parking is on Sheridan, south end of the building, lower level garage. There's a nearby red line stop and several bus stops for those coming by public transport; foot entrance is on Bryn Myr, at the building's north end.

Fyi, I will be bringing the Monolith conical if anyone was curious.

Lots of people, roughly 12 to 15, are coming.

With the Monolith and Londinium as the visiting team, and the Compak and Strega as the home team, it'll be very interesting to get a feel for the human factors. With gear this good, it's usually impossible to tease out a taste winner. But the Monolith and Londinium are specifically built for hobbyists, so when it comes to the human side, does "made to order" blow the long design experience of Bezzera and Ascaso out of the water? I, for one, am very curious to find out what everyone thinks.

Well, with that build up, I hate to have to do this, but I am not going to be able to make it :| My parents (both 90) are having a hard time lately and my sister, who lives nearby, is out of town, so we need to go visit them over the weekend.

Sorry to disappoint!

I think I can safely speak for all other attendees that there is no need to apologize. I (and many others) have elderly parents. I hope they get back up to baseline soon.

Jim, in prior earlier third of this thread I mentioned I have Gabor's ("homo barista") Cremina with pressure piston gauge (also teflon group head-boiler gasket so it can be left on for hours). I was able to install it with some long distance hand holding from Gabor. Still this is not close POU (philosophy of use) as LondiniumR but hopefully will be an ok substitute unless another attendee has a substitute large boiler&group lever. I can arrive no sooner than 11AM (but should be before 1200PM) due to other errands in Chicago.

Sorry if it's been asked, but what time should folks arrive?

Hope they'll be well soon. We'll wait for the Londinium at the next get together.
