9th's Union Sq location is at 136 E. 13th -- opened late fall, I think, around the same time as the Chelsea Grumpy.

How is 9th Street rank? On par with Grumpy or more like Joe's

Turns out I am going to be SMACK in the middle of those two.. about a block and a half away from each....

I am not sure about that location. Their other location is not consistent. I was getting very good shots and I was getting bad shots - depending on who is behind the counter I guess.
Also they were not as friendly as Grumpy's folks. Grumpy is the absolute top of the line I think - it does not get any better.

Sweet! Thanks for the info Abe. I stay in Chelsea every year ( I go to a trade show in May).
I'm actually staying in the neighborhood, on 20th. Can't wait to try it out.

For anybody that will be in the area there is a great bakery around the corner also. it's called Billy's.
