Pharos or used Bunn for pourover and French press? - Page 2

Probably just a difference in what part of the diameter is being measured?

The Rossi "68", Mazzer "71", and Mazzer "83" all refer to the external diameter of the female burr set in mm's.

I own a modified Bunn G3 that I use every day & I had a Pharos for about 5 days. You've got to really like using a hand mill to live with the Pharos on a daily basis. Personally I think the couple hundred $$ you might spend over the cost of the Pharos for a Bunn G series with Ditting burrs is money very well spent. If you can fix the slipping adjuster issue the Pharos will turn out a very nice grind in any range but living with it's idiosyncrasies is another matter entirely.

As for the Pharos burr set:

Sam: The Pharos has a very impressive french press grind, and very easy to turn. The adjustment is not that big a deal, like tuning for espresso. How does the Pharos compare to the Ditting or Bunn? That's a question for an experienced coffee cupper, and unfortunately I'm a noob.

I ended up getting a bunn g3- It came with very little coffee in it and the burrs were nearly perfect. It puts out a really good drip grind and the french press grind would be excellent except for the large number of fines. It's probably hard to tell in the images but if you pick up the press grind with your fingers there is a large amount of dust left behind.
