Hi

I love my new Kalita Wave kettle. However, depending on the angle I hold it and how full it is, the kettle drips slightly at the start of the pour. Then it stops dripping.

Is this to be expected? It is annoying.

Thanks

Jay

You are trying to pour faster than the water can exit the spout. The kettle will drip around the lid if you let the water level inside the pot climb higher than the lid.

He I saying that because it is so full, water is leaking from the top because the level is so high inside.

I understand. I need 750-800 ml which is fairly high in the kettle. What are my options or do I just accept it will leak slightly? I need about 20-24 ounces of brewed coffee in the morning. My mugs are 14 ounces. I fill then to between 10-12 ounces each.

Again. Do I just accept a slight leak?

Thanks

Jay

Its less of a "leak" and more of a spillage just due to the height of the water in the kettle. Try pouring more slowly (less of a steep angle) for the beginning to allow the water level to settle a bit.
