Compare the Espro Press to the Freiling Press

Postby TomC on Wed Aug 17, 2011 2:45 am

Can anyone provide input as to a heads up comparison to these two brewers? I have and love a Freiling frothing pitcher, and I love it's classy looks and solid function. But I've heard such great things about the Espro Press.

Fit and style is important to me, the Freiling looks slightly nicer, but does its press function as cleanly and leave as clean and bright of a cup as the Espro? I have 3 or 4 french presses I almost never use, because of the sediment, but I'd like to explore something besides my pour over or Technivorm. Mainly just to collect more coffee gear :D

It certainly would look nice on the counter!

Thanks!

Frieling makes nice press pots, but they're just the standard press pot design internally, aren't they? The Espro press pot has a multi-stage filter specifically designed to reduce sediment in the cup. By all accounts they produce a much cleaner cup than any other press pot.

Thank you. Without seeing a Freidling hands on, I wasn't sure. But it seemed like on some of the websites, it implied that they used a better grade filtering system.

From what I gather, Frieling uses nicer mesh filters than average, but it's still a plain metal mesh vs. the system Espro designed.

I went ahead and ordered the Espro Press along with a Espro Torid Pitcher, I wanted a larger size for my caps, even if I have to waste some milk.

I think I will start using the Espro Press at work and bring the Clever Dripper home.

Thanks for the input!
