Compak K10 setting for French press

Postby bigragu on Wed Dec 22, 2010 3:22 pm

I have the Compak K10 at home and was considering using it to grind for the occasional french press. Any suggestions on the grind setting from those with the grinder? I usually have it set at roughly 19-20 for espresso.

Try a 180 degree turn from your espresso setting

I too hover around 19-20 for espresso, and move to 35 for press pot. My press has a Swiss Gold screen, so it may tolerate a finer grind than say a Bodum press. There's not much sludge at the bottom of my cup, but I don't mind sludge anyway. Also, 35 is my setting for vacpot and paper filter pourover.
