3rd wave is over when GQ brings forward the B/V Immersion dripper and then suggests pourovers as the next step after mastering your Bonavita immersion. So much for our secret club and handshake.

Yes, I thought that line was interesting too. First I wondered if maybe they just didn't believe a cup of coffee could be worth $6. Then I wondered if they thought a cup of coffee could only be worth $6 if it's produced by a multi-hundred dollar machine. But in my head I translated that line as "we don't really know how to make pourover coffee."
