UPDATE: The first guideline in the Guidelines for productive online discussion is "Be respectful. Treat others as you would have them treat you." Since this thread is otherwise quite informative, I have taken the uncharacteristic step of editing out a secondary discussion of what constitutes an insult and proper adherence to forum etiquette. Nice work, Dan, and thank you. Your editing efforts in regards to this thread were a necessary, yet gentle way to resurrect this thread from the depths to which they fell.
