Which Gaggia?

Postby ajb019 on Mon Dec 05, 2011 2:49 pm

I can't decide between a Gaggia Classic (on sale at Amazon for £167) or the Gaggia Espresso Colour (roughly the same price). Any advice really really welcome. I think Gaggia is a decent make - is that a fair assumption?

thanks

Gaggias are good value for the money and make very good espresso assuming you use a decent grinder and fresh, high quality beans.

Normally the Classic is about $500 in US dollars, so if you can get one for about half that price, it's a great deal. The Espresso Color is a similar machine, but lacks a three-way solenoid valve to relieve pressure after the shot, as well as lacking the nice stainless steel skin of the Classic. So I'd go with the Classic if they're the same price.
Lock and load!
