Where to buy a Fluke for a Scace 2 thermofilter?

Postby Nuprin on Wed Nov 16, 2011 5:01 pm

I'm looking to purchase a Scace 2 (The only place to buy one is http://www.espressoparts.com?) and wanted to know where to get a fluke that everyone seems to use on here. What model do I need?

Thanks in advance...Mike

You can get good deals on eBay. Fluke 54-II would work it is nice it has dual inputs and logging capability.

A Fluke is likely one of, if not the best, hand-held temperature recorders you can buy. BUT, it comes at a steep price for the instrument itself and the proprietary software needed to record/graph results. The Omega HH806AU is very comparable and the HH506RA a little less so.

Do a search on this site for those meters and do a Google search on "Digital Temperature Meters".

If you watch the Fluke auctions on Ebay you can pick up a NIB (new in box) model for MUCH less then the typical advertised prices. I picked up a NIB 54-2 on Ebay recently for $230 but a 51-2 (single input) or 52-2 (dual input) would be fine for Scace testing.

Why not try the National Instruments USB-TC01?

It's USB, works with laptops, and comes pre-loaded with Labview data logging software. AND, only $100!

A bit cumbersome to lug the laptop around. Now, if it only worked with the iphone...
