Used Carimali Uno E - thoughts? Value?

Postby dane5431 on Thu Sep 09, 2010 6:39 am

Hi All,
I have been thinking about acquiring a Carimali Uno E about 8 years old. I would love to hear from owners on how they find it from a service reliability perspective. It just for home use but I don't want it to turn into a cash sucking monster machine.

Also, any indications on how much you think I should pay? I understand that there would be a huge variance based on condition, but let's assume I can find a good one.

Help me talk myself into upgrading.

I have had several Carimalis and I have found them to be decent machines that are easy to work on. As with most commercial machines, a lot of the parts are generic. They are very compact machines, but still manage to incorporate a rotary pump. The main thing you may need to watch out for would be the brain. Do you know which model you are possibly getting? Do you have a photo of it?

I see you seem to be in Oz; prices in NZ vary from about NZ$600-$NZ1400 depending on age, model, and condition.

NickA,
thanks for the info.
I don't have a picture, but I did see an UnoE around 8 years old (maybe 2002 model) with the volumetric auto touch panel at the bottom left (not sure if that helps). Price was around $1000 AUD

I was a bit concerned with the issue of a faulty brain (in the machine) but apart from checking that it's ok, clean and working prior to purchase, I can't think of anything else to avoid disaster.
