Rocket cellini premium plus vs. quickmill andreja premium - build quality/recommendation - Page 3

Postby stevescapin on Mon Sep 28, 2009 9:37 pm

I have a Andreja Premium with a direct connect kit and I never had any problem with it. Great machine...and it is even greater with the new drain valve.

BTW...You should give greater weight to Chris's opinion than the local dealer. Everyone here will tell you that Chris is trustworthy and stands behind his products. I have dealt with Chris and the montreal dealer you are alluding to and Chris is in a league of his own. Fast service and fair prices.

I never give any weight to the local dealer's opinions, that's why I'm here repeating everything lol!

Does the plumb kit need to be installed by you chris, or can anyone do it to their own machine?

Also, Chris, I can't call you because I don't even have a few minutes during my day until after 6. I will have to email you. I hope you don't mind.

The dealer I am talking about is Cafe Union in Montreal. They claim that they get the Quick Mills directly from Italy. This company has been in business for over 20 years, but I still don't know much about their reputation. If anyone has any info on their business practices please chime in.

The fact that you can buy the AP from Chris but not the Cellini is reason enough to buy the AP. No joke.

If you need another reason, the AP has a brew pressure gauge.

I've had my AP for almost 2 years and couldn't be happier.

To be fair, the Cellini is handled by 1st Line, by accounts a highly respected vendor.

No they won't! Personally I feel I was treated like heck but I seem to be one of very few who feel that way.

I buy my coffee beans from Cafe Union, the "Espresso bar". I have seen customers bringing-in machines for repair, and some leaving with repaired machines, and never unhappy. They also have a good selection of machines for sale. I would not hesitate to deal with them.

My plumbed-in Giotto (same as Cellini except for external styling) has had issues with the electronic controller in the first six months, fortunately under warranty, and now the pump gives me intermittent problems...

Hi George,

I was wondering if you wouldn't mind letting me know which machine you ended up getting. I have been researching E61 Semi automatic machines and find myself choosing between the same 2 machines as you were. Both the quickmill Andreja and the Rocket Cellini have very good things going for them and it is hard to choose. Any opinion?

Thank you

Well, I was deciding between these two machines when I made my last purchase. I bought a Cellini and I absolutely love it. Now with that being said I am willing to bet I would love the andreja just as much if I had bought that machine.

But anyone who says that Chris is the only person to buy a machine from and if he doesn't sell it it's not worth buying is diluting himself and closing off his possibilities. I have bought stuff from Chris and he is great to deal with but I bought my Cellini from Seattle Coffee Gear and they have been a pleasure to deal with as well.

To make a long story short, you will just have to decide: who you want to buy it from, how much is it going to cost, where do you get it serviced, and which one you like the to look at. Because both really are great machines.

Here is a video we recently did on the Andreja Premium:
I forgot to mention this in the video but the expansion valve now comes off the cold water side.
