I have my eye on an ECM Raffaello A1. It looks like a decent machine for the $$$. Specs seem to indicate a commercial grade unit. Is that two steam wands?

The label says RAFFAELLO A1/8L. I assume this is an 8L boiler? Not much info out there on these machines and I hear ECM has disowned them after the reorganization. Anyone know of a source for parts?

So it appears not too many people know anything about this machine, or at least they're not telling.

I did some research and it seems the Rocket Boxer is the successor to the Raffaello under the new company. The specs are similar and even the layout of the machines are almost identical. I guess I need to contact Rocket for the skinny.

I have a michaelangelo 2 group, which seems to be about the same age. The control board looks the same, but the group may be different. I got parts from don @ burgess enterprises who was the US distributor for mine. He could probably get what you need. don@beveragespecialistsinc.com

I have a Laura a2 and would second that burgess is the best place to get parts. Great guy to boot.... Some of the stuff doesn't come cheap but he has most of it. The machine was great until the CPU went out. Didn't have the best thermal stability but made some great shots.

The Raffaello has a semi-auto button, so without the cpu I can still use it. Chances are I will be using it mostly in that mode anyway.

I'm not familiar with the Laura, but the Raffaello has somewhere around a 9# group head. I'm hoping that would make it stable enough for my needs. I think I read that there was an option for a controllable temperature for the group.

Anyway, I need a testing machine for my new roastery. I use a La Pavoni at home, but that won't tell me a lot about what my customers are getting on their commercial machines.

My goals are inexpensive and something to produce good, not necessarily great shots consistently. I can get this one for $400. It was used 2 years and then "stored" for 4 more. I'd spend a few hundred having someone look at it, but I just want to make sure I won't get caught in parts hell.
