Old Nuova Simonelli - is it worth the trouble to repair?

I have the opportunity to buy this used Nuova Simonelli personnal 1 for about 175$ suppose to be in working condition. I don't know much about those other than what I can find on their website. I don't even know what this machine does? does it come with a e-61 grouphead? Is someone on this board familiar with the brand? are the parts for repair easily available? are the parts costly? Are they reliable?
Thanks for your help and comment.

Looks like the normal 1 group commercials that NS usually sell. It should be quite the workhorse, and with Silvias going for 600 dollars 175 isn't too shabby, esp. for a working one.

Salut Robert,
At that price I think that it is well worth it. My guess is that there will be some work required to bring it back even it is stated in working condition. So if you feel up to the challenge go for it! If not, please let me know where you saw it and I may take it on as a rebuilt project.

I'm thinking at that price even if you're not a do-it-yourselfer then it would still be worth it to have someone else repair it.

Looks like its 110V but needs plumbing (or flojet). Get a look inside if you can. If you can try it, it heats up/the pump is running I'd go for it but make sure you also get the portafilters.

Here is the info on the Mac2000

Does it come with a e-61 grouphead?
No.

Is someone on this board familiar with the brand?
They are currently the machine sponsors for the WBC.

Are the parts for repair easily available?
Likely a yes

Are the parts costly? Are they reliable?
The Mac2000 is a commercial machine and (probably ) fairly bombproof. Since its a semi-auto there is no flowmeter and related electronics that are expensive to replace. My caveat would be that it might be a challenge to get information, but that's part of the fun?

Good luck!

Edit: Check this 4.8 liter boiler - should be sufficient for home use  Might need 20A service - if it's 15A that will take some time to heat up. Size W350 H470 D500.
