Need replacement ULKA vibratory pump

Postby oconnef on Sat Sep 24, 2011 8:16 pm

Hey all,

I'm looking for a replacement for the pump in my Faema C85. I have an ULKA nh26 (according to the markings) and I use the machine for small volume catering events. On the ULKA site, it seems they don't make that motor anymore, nor can I seem to find any evidence of it's existence on the 'net.

Anyhow, I'm going to email them as well, just wanted to check on here for full research.

Thanks,
Tom.

This should help you: http://groups.google.com/group/faema-compact-user-group

And, if you decide to break out the wrenches: Low Brewing Pressure Bezzera BZ07 . The pics by the OP are 1st class.

As far as I know, only the fluid-o-tech vibratory pump is specified for continuous duty. It's the most common choice for catering machines.

I replaced my Ulka pump with the Fluid-o-Tech pump on my C85.
You have to get a solenoid connector for the F-o-T pump, and put a diode in-line with it. The pump is available with an F-o-T OPV, which I don't use (it's set above the existing bypass valve's setting), but it makes it a royal pain to fit it onto the existing mount. My pump is currently hanging from rubber bands and has a bar towel stuffed around it to keep it from vibrating, but it does a great job.

You might want to borrow or buy a portafilter pressure gauge to help set the OPV.

Good luck!
