Already on it, I got the same quote at the end of June :) Comes out to about $880 with shipping and GST. Unfortunately, they don't carry the Major, though they do carry the Robur :o

I have to think this over for a little bit. I keep coming back to the Major electronic doserless when browsing grinders

Looks like they are up to $900 now plus tax and shipping. I sent off another email... hopefully they can do a little better on the price.

Disregard most of the PM I sent, since I thought you'd asked the wrong store for a quote. Did you mention the 15% discount they list on their site? I was quoted C$800 at the beginning of July.

I sent off another email... we'll see what the response will be!

Unless my math is off $900 -15% is $765. If they will honor that.. I will make the purchase!

I think the biggest benefit to the SJ is that they can be had for cheap. I bought mine for NEW on eBay for $300 + 60-80 shipping. Though this was a while ago, the main reason it didn't sell higher was that it was a 220v version and no one seemed to want to deal with a transformer. It was also rebranded Rio labeled, nevertheless it has held up like the tank that Mazzers are.

If you're thinking to spend upwards of $800 on a new grinder, why not make the jump to http://www.chriscoffee.com/products/hom ... /maxhybrid I believe it's quite a decent upgrade from the SJ, but depending on if you can get it locally and such the gap might be a bit bigger, but I think it's worth it.

Looks like the final price for the Super Jolly is $900 - 7%. $837 plus taxes. From the above mentioned website.

This seems like a fair price to me... any thoughts?

As large as Montreal is, I would think you should likely be able to come up with a used Super Jolly - and that it might be a while, but shouldn't be that long considering the size of the market - Super Jolly = the most prolific commercial model out there.

I'm with Droshi on this one, if you're going to pay that kind of money and get a new one, I would probably go with the CimbaliMaxHybrid.
