Hi,

I am looking for ultimate home espresso grinder. I don't care for speed, my sole concern is taste of espresso shots on HX machine.

Based upon budget, I narrowed down to 3 models:

- Mazzer Major (currently sells for ~680 Euros)
- Macap MC7 (currently sells for ~530 Euros)
- Macap MXK (currently sells for ~860 Euros)

I have seen good praise for MXK on "Battle of Titans", and I guess MXK is definitly better than SJ, but would MXK give me better espresso grinds than Major or MC7? I have read that conical grinders are more forgiving than flat burr grinders. But how much is that applicable to home user?

And being MC7 considerably cheaper, does it produce similar grind to Major? Has anybody experiences with MC7 and Major?

At the end I just could not resist the offer for Doge Conico.

I just cannot cope with my current KitchenAid grinder.

I had it as an unlisted guest during the TGP -- it's a very sweet grinder, the best and smoothest execution of the stepless, floating on springs style burr mount that I've ever used.
