Looking for a specific cup design

Postby bigbad on Fri Dec 09, 2011 10:25 pm

I'm looking for a specific cup design...

6-8 ounces with thick, low walls, but a very wide mouth.

I found it at Espresso Parts here...

However, they sell them in sets... I really don't need six of 'em... one will do. Anybody know elsewhere that sells a similar cup design in singles?

They're not the exact same cups but I got these Inker Luna and Tina cappuccino cups from OE. There are 6 oz and 8 oz versions. Pretty thick and feels good to drink from. The 8 oz is probably the best for double shot latte art and I used the 6oz for single shot cappuccino. Of course you could get both.

Nice cups. I have both in 6 oz. size. The main differences are the handles and the thickness. The Luna handle is more open and easier to hold, at least in the larger sizes. The Tina requires a firmer "pinch"; I like it best in the espresso size. On the other hand, the Tina handle looks like it would survive abuse better, being so much chunkier. The thickness and weight of the Luna are a little less, especially at the lip, which is what first called my attention to the difference. The Luna is also very slightly lower and wider.

I think the above cups are probably better and would rather have you spend your money at a mom and pop place, however I got this set at a thrift store and they work really well.

They are open like you want and pretty thick as well.

EP is currently / soon (not sure) running a special where they're selling set cups individually, you might want to take a look.

Good luck

I have those ones too and they are 2 thumbs up. A lot thicker than most other cups I have.

Thanks guys for the suggestions. Unfortunately, I need something lower and wider than what is specified for those models.

I've checked, and so far, the only cups for individual sale are the tulip shapes, meh...

I'm looking for the "cafe style" cups, 'cause I'm practicing latte art. Often times, the walls tend to get in the way during the process. I really like those cafe style cups on EP, but I think they're probably top sellers so they're in no hurry to get rid of 'em like the overstocked Tulip style.
