La Spaziale Rossini Dosata vs Vibiemme Domobar?

Postby novyan on Wed Jun 10, 2009 4:01 pm

Hello guys,

Obviously I'm new kid on the "HB" block here, and I need a little help deciding either Domobar or S1 Rosini dosata. Am also interested in bezzera BZ02S... especially because of the "Zero recovery time - continuously extract espresso, after espresso, after espresso....." Is this for real, I can make 6 cups at time? Can I do the same with the other 2 machines?

Thanks a lot!

Unless you're superman, you can make straight espresso as fast as you can grind dose and tamp on any of these machines.

The limits of these smaller catering or semi-commercial machines show up when you try to steam a lot of milk drinks. The regular Domobar (as opposed to the Super) is a single boiler machine, so you actually have to wait for the boiler to switch from brewing to steaming temperature. The Domobar Super is in the same class as the other two.

The La Spaziale has better steaming than the Bezzera (or the Domobar Super, I think), but the portafilter is a non-standard size, and you'll need to buy baskets, tampers, and PFs specially designed for this machine. I know in the US this is not a problem, since there are several on-line vendors who sell parts. Elsewhere, you need to check.

The rossini is a single boiler version of the vivaldi.
So based on that i'd go for the Bez since it is an hx machine and the others are single boilers.

Hi again,

The "std" you are saying refer to E61? I am interested in this group. If so, bezzera is my choice.

For steaming I won't worry too much as I have PVL, it can do the job better than any of these machine I think. So yes I'm looking to make 2 espressos after 2 espressos, after 2 espressos and so on. I can't do it with the PVL, maybe just me, but I am going to get another machine anyway. So I'd use PVL as steamer and ristretto (I just love PVL's ristretto with a local Java Jampit beans) and another machine will be used for espressos. BTW, I'm in Indonesia and purchasing from US is much easier than getting things locally, been an ebayer since 2k, so no problem with parts or anything.

Thanks for the reply!
