I have an offer to buy one of these machines:
The la cimbali is brand knew and the La Spaziale S1 has been used for demonstaration.
The La Spaziale is priced 300$ higher,

I would appreciate some advise.

Both pretty high-end machines, with a couple of differences: La Cimbali is a Heat exchanger, La Spaziale is a dual boiler machine. The Cimbali is made like a tank, all-metal and virtually indestructible, whereas the La Spaziale has a lot of plastic parts. I can't really give you more than that the dual boiler La Spaziale (with optional preinfusion?) is more easy to use than the Cimbali.

Indestructability would not be really high on my list of priorities for a domestic espresso machine. But whether the machine was a heat-exchanger or a dual-boiler would be at the top of the list. With heat exchanger designs that superheat the brew water, you need to control the brew temperature by flushing the right amount of water and then waiting the right length of time before pulling the shot. Err, and with some machines err just a little, and you produce a bitter swill. Double-boiler machines like the La Spaziale do not superheat the water and are therefore easier to use and much more forgiving. Double-boilers like the La Spaz also take far less time to heat up and do not need to be kept on all the time or turned on an hour before you want to use them.

The Rossini is not the same as the S1 Vivaldi we get here in the U.S. It is NOT a dual boiler machine as it uses the .45 liter group boiler for all functions (brew/steam/hot water).

One is called the Vivaldi & the other the Rossini. Not all that similar. They are both in the S1 family & share various pieces including the body shell.

I know, that's why I said similarly and not the same. Still, I would shorten both names to LaSpaziale S1, and seeing they're really different, that's bad.

Again . . . Vivaldi and Rossini are VERY different -- not only in the music they composed, but in the machines that carry their names:

S1 = family name (think Mercedes Benz).
Rossini = single boiler, available as plumbed-in or pourover (think C class, available as a sedan or a convertable).
Vivaldi = dual-boiler, available as plumbed-in or pourover* (think E class, available as a sedan or a convertable).

* To me, the only weird part re: the names is that the pourover Vivaldi is known as the "Mini Vivaldi." Why isn't the pourover model of the Rossini called the "Mini Rossini"???
