Izzo Alex Duetto III? Are you kidding me?

Postby irrelevancy on Wed Jul 27, 2011 9:41 pm

So I'm about to buy a Duetto 2, and when I pull up the shop's "Izzo espresso machines" page, THIS comes up:

http://www.espressocoffeeshop.com/store/product865.html

Are you freaking kidding me? Just when I think I've saved enough?

On another note - anyone else heard anything about it?

Edit: I asked ChrisCoffee about it (since he deals with Izzo in N. America) and he said he's changed the knobs but there has been no official name change. Looks like the european seller got some new machines and didn't know what to call them!

Yea, apart from the new knobs and alarm sensor I don't really see anything different

A true revision to the Duetto would have to include a more refined fit and finish, creating a deeper drip tray, and creating more head space between group and tray. Perhaps make joystick steam and hot water controls standard.

Yeah I would love to have a little more room between the group and the drip tray!

A bottomless PF does the trick if you want more room.

I hate to resurrect an old thread, but I recently found another distributor overseas listing another version III model.

http://www.bellabarista.co.uk/coffeemac...asp?cat=84

New Features - As of September 2011
*Upgraded stainless body
*New Izzo Tamper
*Insulated Steam Wand
*New Packaging to ensure your Dream Machine arrives in perfect condition

Is this still the same as the MK II from CC or do you think there are further improvements? The new feature that catches my eye is the "Upgraded stainless body".

Oh yes please, most definitely the most useful improvement, two side handles curved in line with the casing and possibly with the option of being slightly curved out over the top of the casing for easy grab with a rail along the back to stop cups sliding off the rear whilst lifting Izzo should take advantage of this nice little aftermarket earner for all the machines they have supplied, It really is such a bore having to take all the cups off the top everytime you need to refill with water
Apart from the usefulness of the handles i really think it would add a very attractive finish to the top of the machine so would also be in demand for plumed in machines also

Bella Barista responded to my inquery and it sounds like their MK III machines are the same as CC's MK II machines.

Thank you for your e-mail. Yes, it is the same model, the main difference between our machines and the machines in the states is simply the voltage. Also, because I'm able to order machines regularly, I always get the latest off the production line. Chris Coffee offer some modifications to their machines which I don't (knobs, cup rails etc) but you can be assured of the best service with Chris Coffee, they have a very good reputation.
