Gasket material on-line

Postby realdoctor on Fri Mar 11, 2011 6:43 am

Any suggestions for on-line sources of gasket material (sheet for cutting custom gaskets)? Sources in UK or W. Europe would be particularly helpful, and I need companies that will sell retail. I am interested in making boiler and other miscellaneous gaskets for rebuilding machines.

Thank you!

McMaster-Carr is a good place for things like this. They should have gasket material that is designed to come in contact with potable water and food.

Also, I have made a lot of gaskets out of those silicone baking mats. You just need to find the ones that are perfectly smooth on both sides (not Silpat). They are thick though, so they might not be right depending on where you are using them.
