French press specific grinder

I am going to buy an espresso only grinder in a couple of months. Right now I want to buy a good quality grinder that will probably only be used for FP. Does anyone have any suggestions? Don't really have a budget but I don't want to spend more than I have to.

I'm happy with my Baratza Virtuoso but it may be more than you want to pay. The Baratza Maestro Plus or Maestro are cheaper and would still work fine for French Press. Refurbished models are usually available on Baratza's website.

Or a manual coffee grinder.

Although I've never used it, I've read positive comments about the Hario Skerton and it sells for less than $40. It's convenient to have a hand grinder when you're on the road or camping, assuming you're only grinding for one or two people and you don't mind the exercise. Search manual and/or hand grinder for previous discussions of this option. Otherwise the Baratza Maestro is a great choice for French press (I had less success with it for espresso).

I'll add another vote for the Baratza Maestro. I used one as my primary grinder until I moved into the world of espresso. In my opinion, it out performed my Rocky for French Press brewing. Depending on how often you plan on brewing french press, the Virtuoso maybe a better long term solution because of the burr set.

I too am very pleased with my Baratza Virtuoso for french press and all brewed coffee uses. I've checked the grinds under dissecting microscopes and its quite uniform compared with a Capresso Infinity for example...Another good feature is that it retains few grinds.

It's not cheap (refurb units are available on the Baratza website) but its good quality that will last.

I am happy with my KitchenAid grinder for FP. Not a great choice for espresso.

I want to cast another vote for Baratza. Any of their grinders will fit the bill for FP.
