Thanks Roy. Do you have a pricesheet? I'm building a new home to close in the end of the month. If this system is reasonable, I may install it over my current 10" multi filter setup.

Sorry for hyjacking your forum here! Thanks for letting me participate. I'm going to turn it back over your capable hands, as I'm leaving for a 2-week vacation to Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons. If you like I can help out some more on water related topics when I return.

If anyone hijacked this thread, it was me. Thanks for your input, Roy, and do keep in touch.

In case anyone is interested, I've been calling all over the place trying to locate this new filter for my coffee bar in my home that's under construction. I finally was able to hook up with a 'master' distributor who was local and put in an order for the head and a medium sized filter. The combo is around $350 if I recall correctly. The filter was the vast majority of that price. Again, I'm not sure if that's the right price, but what happened is I can't actually get them to order the head and filter on its own - they have to put in an order for a few thousand dollars worth of stuff, then they can throw in my order on top of theirs. So, I have to wait for this process to go through. It's been almost 3 weeks thus far, and I haven't heard back yet.

Whenever I hear back on final pricing and receipt of the unit, I'll fill everyone in. I like the fact I'll only have one filter to worry about, and I can easily vary the mix ratio for hardness.

Just a side note - I'd probably advise against polyphosphates/scale inhibitors when it comes to coffee brewing. As I recall they are much more suited to ice machines etc. Polyphosphates prevent scale depositing but they seem to increase the TDS, which leaves you with less than ideal water for coffee brewing. As another side note you will invalidate your Clover warranty if you use inhibitors instead of softeners.

We use a Claris at the roastery for the Synesso and Uber boiler, and I've been very happy so far with the results. My set up would be particularly prone to scale - a mixture of very, very hard water and a machine that isn't constantly being used, so it is something I worry about. Curious about the Everpure RO system - launched in the US, still waiting for it in the UK.

Hi James,
How long have you had your Claris? I imagine not long given their short time at market. Happy with it thus far, as in any gotchas?

OK, call me impulsive. I just put in an order for a Claris head and medium filter cartridge.

I ordered:
EV4339-23 Claris Head 3/8" QCF
EV4339-11 Claris M filter cartridge

The Everpure folks gave me a local distributor who in turn gave me the number of a local retailer (in San Jose, CA).

It will be about 2 weeks before I can get my hands on it but I'll post back the results ASAP.

That's exactly my order. Still no word from the distributor on my end. I initially called a local retailer and they told me they didn't have access to that product line. They were EXTREMELY nice about it, but said there was nothing they could do, and put me in touch with a smaller distributor who said they knew nothing. Then I called Everpure corp who sent me to this master distributor. We'll see how it goes.

George: I'm in Sunnyvale (which is nearby Campbell), which distributor did you place the order with? I'm about 2 weeks from my kitchen remodel and I'm very curious about the Claris solution.

Hi Mark,

The retailer is Dong Vinh Restaurant Equip & Supplies, on Monterey Rd. between Curtner and Stauffer.

The head unit is $75 and the M filter $120. A bit on the expensive side but if it works as expected it will be about the same as the Crystal Geyser gallon bottles I use (based on a years worth of use). Hopefully if the Claris catches on, filter prices will go down.

So ... my turn for Guinea Pig mode. You're certainly welcome to stop by, check it out, run some tests, etc. And I do want to check out your T1 someday!
