Eureka Mignon or Macap MC4 for home

Postby molinari on Wed Oct 06, 2010 12:51 pm

Hello,

I'm looking to treat myself to a new coffee grinder for home use and I'm stuck on which one to get.
After lots of searching and reading several reviews, I've narrowed it down to the Eureka Mignon and the Macap MC4 C18 (I don't want to spend much more than £300). Can anyone post any thoughts about these two, perhaps some personal experience with them??

Many thanks :)

No direct experience with the Eureka, but all other things being equal, opt for MC4 w 58mm burrs rather than 50mm in Eureka.

I don't know the Macap. The little Eureka is a lovely grinder; quiet, good doser and adjustments, very good grind quality.

I don't have experience with other grinders, but I am very happy with my doserless Eureka Mignon: good grind quality, quiet and ideal for small quantities of coffee, as I will use in my private home.

Here is a grinders review from a store in UK. It does not include the MC4 but It does provide some point of comparison for the Mignon.

Hope it helps.
