Considering used Macap MC4 stepless for $250

Postby joshd on Tue Apr 26, 2011 12:28 am

I have a line on a barely used 2 yr old Macap MC4 for $250. If the machine is in as good of condition as advertised, would you all recommend this purchase?

You may be better off with larger burrs + slower motor. Can be had for less with a bit of looking...

From the owner of a 6-yr old MC4 stepped, I would snap that deal up. Excellent grind, solid machine. I would buy mine again.

$ 250 is a lot of money for a used machine. Mine (doserless, stepless) was under EUR 300 new.

Depends upon when you bought it. That grinder runs $530-570 new in the US now. The US$ has slumped 18% against the Euro in the last five years.

That's a steal. It won't last long at that price. Grab it while you can.

Thanks for all your advice and responses. I managed to get the machine for $200!!! It seems to be in great shape and shows very little wear. Now I just need to give it a really good internal cleaning. No telling how long some of those grounds have been in there.
