Compak K3 or Macap M4 Doserless

Postby jbustillo on Sun Feb 08, 2009 8:58 pm

Hello Everyone

I am ready to place my order for my Vibiemme but want to buy a new grinder also. I already own a Mazzer Mini (I use it with my Silvia) but want to buy a second grinder. I am trying to decide on a doserless and have landed on the Compak K3 and Macap.

Any suggestion on which would be a good 2nd grinder?

Wait to see if the Baratza Vario lives up to the buzz. Since it can grind espresso AND presspot, it seems like it would be a good choice as a second grinder to complement your Mini (which is basically the same as the K3 and Macap already).

Neat! The "related topics" at the bottom of this thread lead me to Compaq K3 Touch or Macap MC4 Doserless.

I have just bought a Vibiemme Domobar Super Lever and was recommended the Compak K3 Touch Doserless. In the 2 weeks that I have had the units and changing beans (3 types since) I have had no bother at all with the Compak.

I did my research as much as I could on the net and cannot find much if any that is bad about the Compak, if anything it has all been positive. One of my main concerns was "clumping' as described about doserless machines and have seen enough on YouTube, so far the Compak has come out champion with nary a spot of bother.

It may be early days yet but so far so good.
