Actual prices (if you ask the right vendor) are more like $1200 for the K10 (may have gone up a little) and $1550 for the K30.

The 2 grinders are very different. The K30, being doserless and all, is great if you stick to a certain bean for a couple pounds at a time, the K10 is great for single dosing. The K10 has top grind quality, but the K30 offers some serious convenience.

I sold my K30 after I got my K10. Im strictly a single dosing kinda guy and only throw the hopper on when I have guests. I also have several SOE's/Blends on hand at a time and the K10 is a life saver for switching between shots. If I were into staying with one bean for a couple pounds straight, the K30 would easily still be on my bench. Different strokes ya know? Both are VERY high quality pieces of equipment, they just cater to different types of users. If you do decide to go with a doserless, the K30 is easily one of the best choices out there. If you are like me, a single dosing, large conical junky - the k10 is a very solid choice. FWIW, the K10 can serve up a crowd in a flash if need be, obviously the K30 can as well.

thanks jammin, i usually fill the hopper with 12oz of coffee at a time, last me for 5-6 days (i buy the coffee in 12oz packages). lets say i did the same with both machine, filled the hopper with 12 oz, am gone pull 2 shoots every day before work and 2-3 shoot after work, am not spending any time cleaning anything in between (may be once a week), which one will have the best shot in the the cup consistence.
thanks

Well, imho, the K10 is going to have the most consistency hands down, BUT, the K10 also has more grinds retention and you may end up wasting a larger percentage of your coffee purging out old grounds. If you were to single dose with the K10, you could get every shot out of that bag with practically zero waste. The K10 is more work to use. You should realize that you'll sacrifice one of two things with the K10, time or coffee. With the K30 - if you use 1 coffee at a time, you'll only be bothered when you get to the end of each bag. If you only buy 12oz at a time, and switch coffee every go - the K30 will need a couple shots in the beginning as well to calibrate it. Think about your consumption rates as well - how long does a 12oz bag last? This will impact what is happening to the beans in the hopper. Are you good to throw a half bag of beans in the hopper at time? Anyhow - there's some food for thought. It's a fork in the road in some ways as to how you will prepare your espresso daily, so take some time and choose the right path. It's a big purchase.

Sidenote - as a home roaster, I am constantly tasting new roasts, new beans, blah blah. If you think someday you might open that can of worms, I'd say the K10 would be helpful.

hmm, am more confused now, consistency is what i want, i hate tweaking between shoots, sink shots, some time am in a rush and if i pull a wrong shoot i end up drinking it (still better than fast coffee) since i dont have time in the morning to do another one, am not gone clean the chute after each use, i usually grind for 2 second in the morning to clean the machine, i dont do that after work..
i usually fill the hopper every 3-4 days.
i wish i can see any of the machine but it will be mail order.......
thanks
