Nixter

Yes, a comparison matrix! That is my engineer (nerd) side, but i didn't do it in excel just on a sticky note which kind of helps me save face somewhat.

I'm happy to hear you still like your Rocket. I had read a few of your posts before deciding on this machine. So thanks for those.

Pros
- i'll go ahead and say it: it just looks great
- rotary pump
Cons
- you pay for the solenoids and reservoir/plumb in switch (i don't have plans to plumb in the machine so this feature is not useful to me)
- How's the reliability? (Rocket users, set me straight!)
- temperature thing again

might be too late for this, but since you don't plan on plumbing you could have looked into the Cellini Premium Plus. its the same exact thing minus the plumbing option for a couple hundred bucks less.

i didn't think i was going to plumb in mine but after a while i ended up doing it. wouldn't have it any other way now.

congrats on your buy, youre going to love your machine.

Thanks Alvin,

I have a sneaking suspicion that it will end up plumbed in one day...

Still waiting for the darned delivery truck to come. Hey Canada Post, where the heck is my machine?

Hey there spiff dude, I really enjoyed reading your thread because started with the same questions and machine considerations as I did. And it is always great to hear things from montreal, that's where I am originaly from.

Now that you have been using the machine for a while are you happy with your purchase? the rocket cellini is at the top of my list presently and I would like to hear how it is functioning for you.

also, did you go with espressotec? if so how were they?

Hope you get this and I would love to hear your thoughts...

Hi there, i've just noticed an update to this thread.

I'm quite happy with the machine. It's been working like a chart and i've made some great progress with my shots. I will be getting Eric's thermometer soon in order to see what going on more in detail on the temperature front.

I ultimately decided on the rocket and i do no have regrets, it makes good espresso and has a nice quality build! I ordered it from espressotec, they were responsive to my questions and delivered quickly. Since i've had no problems with the machine, i did not get to test their tech support...

What i like about these machines (an other E61 Hx) is how easy it is to get a stuff for maintenance. So far, i've lubed the brew lever and inspected the water level sensor. I've also removed the mushroom for a scale check. All easy jobs, which gives me confidence for the upcoming descale job i have planned.

I also bought a mazzer from idrinkcoffee, another canadian dealer. They also seemed like a good vendor well. Again, zero problems with the mazzer so no comments on support.

PM me if you have specific questions
