Cheap Digital Scale $6 delivered until Sept. 26, 2010

Postby Ken Fox on Thu Sep 23, 2010 8:33 pm

This is the same scale as the ones I use for weighing coffee, and at the lowest price I have seen. I saw the deal on a "deals" website. For the record, I don't believe I have ever dealt with this company, but I have seen various deals from this company posted numerous times on various deal websites.

Use coupon code M9AD092308 to reduce the price to $6, delivered, in the USA. Be sure to UNCHECK the box for shipping insurance, or you will pay $2 more; it can't possibly be worth anyone's time (no less $2 additional) to try to collect $6 if the item is lost in the mail

If you want more than one, you will need to place additional order(s), since the coupon code will only take the same amount off per order, regardless of the number of scales you order.

Me too. That scale works well, seems accurate, and uses regular batteries. And my total came to $5.79. Can't beat that.

I'll add another recommendation: this is a decent scale for an insanely low price. FWIW, the same scale is routinely available from numerous sellers on eBay for $6 shipped.

I got both of mine from an eBay seller. I'm still using the first one over a year later. I've replaced the batteries once. I really like that it runs on AAA batteries.

I've given one of mine away when it started to look a bit tattered, but at this price it isn't too painful.

In contrast, I spent about $40 on a MyWeigh scale which started to malfunction after only a few months, and got tossed. Even though it had a "warranty," it was clearly going to take more money and time than it was worth to try to collect on it. The MyWeigh had the "advantage" of being able to plug a $10 AC adapter into it, but since I can't imagine ever spending even $5 on the batteries for one of these things, that's a dubious advantage.

I always look at the type of battery contained inside before buying any small electronic device and regularly decide against buying anything that uses hard to find expensive batteries, as do many of the smaller scales.

I have had mine about 3 years: replaced battery just recently. Fine little scale. Good for tenths of gram accuracy. I think I paid about $10.

To use: I place a plastic container on it, then hit the "Tare" button to zero it, and put in my beans. I use both the gram setting, and the oz. settings (for bigger loads). I weigh mail with it too.

I, too, have that scale. Bought it on ebay for about $7 shipped. As for the tare function, I just place my item on the scale right when I turn it on; no need to hit tare as it will set the beginning weight as zero, even with my Cremina's basket already sitting on the scale.

I stumbled onto this practice also. I don't think it is stated in the instructions. Most scales won't zero if there is weight on the platform when you start them up, but this one is an exception.
