Caffe Fresco goes above and beyond with service!

Postby scottfa on Mon Nov 30, 2009 8:40 pm

Hi all:
A short story: I ordered 3 bags of coffee from Tony and instead of the package with coffee in it, I got a bill from my local post office stating that I owed $2.15 extra postage. I grumbled a little bit, paid it and enjoyed the coffee. I informed Tony of this and he was as bewildered as myself. Fast-forward to about 2 weeks ago. I ordered another 2 bags of espresso beans from Tony. Being a nice guy, Tony included a bag of Daterra on the house. This of course led to a 3 bag problem at my end. Another $2.15 bill, along with a trip to the post office. I sent a somewhat ticked off message to Caffe Fresco about the situation. Tony was beside himself. HE actually CALLED ME ON MY PHONE to apologize and then left an email. Before I could tell him it was OK due to the extra bag of coffee, he had refunded the purchase price. He talked to his local Post Office manager and we are trying to see just what the heck my local manager is thinking. Anyway, a truly class act well worth our support here!
Great coffee by the way!!!!!

The Post office can boggle the mind at times. You would think this would be picked up at the originating Post office.

Yes.. you would think that.. But no.

And wouldnt you also think, that when you PAY for overnight, you GET overnight?

"Sorry, it got held up, we'll refund the extra you paid, though"

"THATS NOT THE POINT!!!"

I wanted it shipped overnight, not a refund and a late shipment. Damn right your going to refund my money. AND, if you had any clue was customer service was, you would GO OUT OF YOUR WAY to get the package to its destination ASAP.

Boggles the mind is only the tip of the iceberg.

Sorry... Im done

It is refreshing to hear and experience good service. I can also attest to Tony's sincerity and customer care. After making a statement online that I was disappointed with my experience with Ambrosia he wrote to me offering to replace it. I did not take him up on his offer because I felt it was probably a combination of learning and my equipment. I will certainly try Ambrosia again. Black Cat didn't work for me on my Duetto but is excellent on my new equipment.

Random thought (and obviously I wasn't there, and know nothing of the specifics): one of the problems with the US Postal Service's Priority Mail is that the package itself weighs something. As a result, two pounds of coffee is not a two pound shipment . . .

Tony uses USPS FLAT RATE shipping service. They even have a TV commercial stating that if it fits in the box then it ships for the flat fee. There should be NO extra charges for ANYTHING, especially weight.

Well, if it's a Flat Rate box, as opposed to a regular Priority Mail box, then I can't explain it. Like I said, it was just a thought . . .

You would be surprised. If you put tape around the box not just a piece here and there to hold a tab shut, they can claim that you 'altered' the package so it could hold more than its intended design. Then they will charge you extra. It has happened. Just the man sticking it to us.
