Hi
Anyone ever purchase Grumpy Mugs at Cafe Grumpy in NYC? I like their mugs and love their coffee. I have sent them a few emails regarding their source of manufacture and whether or not lead-free glaze is used in the manufacturing. I have received no response and am reluctant to use them. I am submitting this on the hope that someone might know.
They are 11 ounce "C" mugs. Just the right size for my brew batch. The mugs that came with my dinnerware are lead free (Emile Henry). We really like them, but they are large (14.5 ounces). I find it difficult to portion out 9 ounces in such large mugs, without bringing my scale to the breakfast table, so I am looking for smaller lead free alternatives.
Thanks
Jay

The website says it is vitrified. Doesn't that mean there is no glaze?

No, that just means it's double fired (glaze). Nothing about the glaze that is used.
