Bezzera BZ07 vs Quickmill Anita vs Rocket Cellini. Opinions?

Postby dgasmd on Sun Nov 27, 2011 2:41 am

As the title says, I am seeking opinions/comparisons between these 3 models. Yes, price is different between all 3, but I guess what I am ultimately looking at is "which would you choose and more importantly WHY?" This would be my first real espresso machine. Looking at getting the Baratza Vario or Vario-W to go with it for a grinder.

Below are links for reference to the specific models:

1. Bezzera BZ07 $1399

2. Rocket Cellini $1699

I've been looking at some these same machines and also saw the Black Friday deal 1st-Line had on the Bezzera BZ02SDE which I am still contemplating. If only it we're so wide. What I really want is the BZ07SDE http://www.1st-line.com/machines/home_m...7_full.htm and it's my understanding that the PID isn't really very useful on the HX machines. I'm also inclined to go automatic so I can brew quickly in the morning as I go off to work and besides, all of the auto machines let you operate manually as well. I like the BZ07SDE because it's so narrow, it uses a heating element to heat the group and there's no fussing with an E61 grouphead, and the spring loaded steam and water valves seem nice. The fact that the water dispenser is tight is of little consequence to me since I don't use the hotwater function much anyway. It's a compact, sweet machine and 1st-Line is 1st-rate.

Well, thanks for the opinions and links. I have spent more time reading here on these machines, reviews, and posts that I'll ever admit in public. Also spoke with 1st Line and Chris's Coffee, which left me with some questionable opinions that somewhat contradict popular believe and opinion here. :? In the end, I've decided against all 3 models for different reasons. Looking/considering others now.
