There is no such thing as the best espressomachine, there are allot of capable machines, some of these can be used in such a way that you can get some very interesting results out of light roasted beans, but that dos not mean the result is any better, that depends on the preferences of the one tasting the shot - eg. Subjective


In reality any decent machine used correctly can produce excellent results with light roasts. Like any other situation it depends on quality of roast, quality of beans, using water with correct values and the beans being grinded on a high quality, well aligned (usually) flatburr.

The grinder is so much more important then the machine.

Again Grinder is key ......... plus great coffee , great water and understanding the effect of your brew ratio
Low pressure etc is then all icing on the cake.....

100% agree with the grinder Grinder GRINDER mantra etc. and have demonstrated it with my ancient Krups Gusto. However once the grinder or grinders are taken care of IMO that icing on the cake can be a substantial difference.
