Artazza espresso cups

Postby felixnyc on Mon Nov 01, 2010 8:03 pm

Hey everyone,

Anyone have any experience with artazza cups? Seem expensive, but look pretty nice. I currently have nuova point sorrento. Looking for some new cups.

Thanks.

I think they're very nice cups, but if I were going to spend $30 per espresso cup, I'd probably be considering something like the Illy William Kentridge Collection set.

For general use, I am extremely happy with my ACF cups. Even the fancy red tulip espresso cups are only $36 for 4.

I agree that the price is a bit drastic. My other cups are less than a year old. Maybe the inker Tina is another option.

While I know you're asking about the espresso cups...

My wife bought me a set of the Artazza cappuccino cups after we finished a kitchen remodel. After almost a year with them, my feedback on them is that they're striking to look at, heavy (nicely made), and make for a beautiful presentation, but... I do have to say that I prefer a slightly different shape (and smaller) cup - in the picture below, you can see them on the left machine, they're from Sweet Maria's, and are the perfect size for a cappuccino. For espresso? I have to say that I've got some inexpensive cups I picked up at a local store owned by a large, borderline evil, coffee-corporation based in Seattle with a mermaid on the logo. They work great, and actually look quite nice. I got them for a great price because I don't think the "baristas" at the local store knew what they were for - maybe to scoop out caramel sauce.

Here's a picture of my rig with the Artazza cups on the PV Lusso on the right (yes, I do now have more espresso cups up on top now -this picture was taken awhile ago).
