Anyone compare a good hand grinder with something like A Rocky or Vario/preciso grinder?

I just purchased a Vario myself, after using a Kyocera CM-45 CF for a while, not sure I can tell the difference.
(I wanted to get a fine grind, without getting fine particles in the crema in the cup, but it seems both grinders have this).

But I'm still experimenting with it. I'm going to try a direct comparison once I can get the grind size to be about the same on both.

Just wondering if anyone else has had experience with a decent hand grinder vs the more expensive electronic ones.
I don't mind taking a few minutes (and getting some exercise) to grind the beans myself, if it means I get a similar taste, while saving $450 :!:

Might I recommend the Orphan Espresso Pharos hand grinder?
It's $250, but makes a grind worth much more. Think of it as an affordable Titan conical grinder. It isn't for everyone, it can be fiddly, but if you want amazing results for a good price, and don't mind the manual labor, it can deliver.

The only good hand grinders that give really consistent grinds are the pharos($250) and the rosco hand grinder($400). If you want ergonomics, you'd want to pick the rosco, if you want speed and don't care for ergonomics, go for the pharos.
