No, because that only changes the vane height, not how closely they sweep the chamber. If your grinder doesn't sweep well, see Improving doser efficiency for suggestions / links.

True, I have found this as well. This seems obvious for the untamped mound. But surprisingly I'm finding that even after tamping I get a denser puck with certain grinders. Using a flat burr Mazzer grinder might give me 16-17g tamped to the ridge in the faema double basket. But using the Baratza Vario it takes around 19g to reach the ridge after tamping.
