After wanting an HX espresso machine for years now...

I just ordered a Mini Vivaldi from Chris Coffee. After reading tons of threads and reviews, it just sounded like the most practical machine for me. I'm still a nervous wreck though.

Relax and enjoy. I don't know anything about this machine (others will chime in) but what I see most often is that when people buy well regarded machines from well regarded vendors, it's a happy ending.

I've never heard about anyone who got a Vivaldi complaining later that it wasn't worth it. I'm sure it'll be a great machine for you. Enjoy!

I got mine in early February from Chris'. I know, I never imagined I would spend this kind of money for an espresso machine. But, I'm very happy with it. It makes great espresso, steams like a dream. I make 2 lattes for my wife every morning, an Americano and 2 lattes for me. It's great fun and enjoyment.
I also have a Pietro grinder I got on e-bay that cost me a little under 300 with new burrs. Those 63mm burrs resolved any questions I have about well prepared coffee.
I think you're in for a treat. To paraphrase old Abe Lincoln, once you make a deal, hug it tight.

I went from stone-age to high tech in one go and I have to admit I was overawed. But then I thought I'm not stupid or incapable - how hard can it be. Wait till you get that first wonderful shot and then you'll be all meh there's nothing to it.
