51mm tampers seem kind of rare

The Mahlgut tampers look interesting but they don't seem to offer a 51mm for my La Pavoni Europiccola Millennium. In fact that size isn't offered by most folks. I bought a 51mm from OE for my naked portafilter and it works OK but does leave some grounds around the edges. Would a 51mm be a special order?

Searching for tampers today and noticed Ebay has many vendors offering 51mm for a decent price.
Between order and chaos there is espresso.
Semper discens.

I didn't check eBay, I'll give them a look. Thanks.

This one seems pretty neat, you can choose a diameter as well as a style:

You'd have to pick up a handle as a separate item though, but at least it would give you variety.

Yeah, these look nice. Precision too.

Geez, serrated, convex, concave, etc. Does it really make a difference?

I have this one for my Millennium Europiccola: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Blue-Stainless- ... 1636876065
It's not pretty, but has a much better fit than both of my more expensive tampers for the 49mm machines.

Serrated makes for a pretty design on the tamped puck.
Convex tampers make for good wibble wobbles when place on a flat surface.

In the cup I've not heard anything definitive.

Thanks. For 13 bucks I'll go for it.

Years ago I had a tamper that I really liked, but when I switched machines it was a bit too big for the new machine. A machine shop turned it down to exactly the size I wanted. I can't recall the price, but it must have been reasonable or I'd have remembered :D
