Don't forget that eBay makes a
percentage off the final price, so they have a nice incentive to make sure that sellers get a nice price.
Most of the time, I use a proxy service and set a bid for what I'm willing to pay for an item and live with it. It's too easy to let emotions run away and get into a bidding war over something you really want. I noticed quite a while ago commodity items like flash cards selling on eBay that were priced higher then retail so you have to do your homework, it's not always a good deal.

Take a look at the selling prices on the Buy Sell Trade section of CG to see if you think that's true.
